im getting this like loud rattle when i start my beast up and also when i turn it off...is this normal??? it sounds like a flywheel or something.... its happens right when you turn the car on and right when you turn it off??? is this normal??? does anyone have a quite start up and off?? thanx for you help fellas!!

Could be VANOS noise. Do a search and you will find loads of info on this topic.

I have a single knock on start-up, throttle-blip after idling a while, or shut down, which I believe is a vanos movement causing slack in the chain for a moment. I also believe this is within the bounds of "normal". Others have had continuous vanos rattle - this is NOT right and there are fixes for it under warranty.

Yup....sounds like a Vanos issue. Take it to your dealership.

hey jay thanks for the thread but my car just does that noise when you turn it on and off??? not at idle?? so im guessing it might be normal?? i dunno might just take it to the dealer anyways...
