You mean you did not mark the two halves of the shaft?

pinion nut torque

No, I am refering to the pinion shaft to nut position.I lost my head did not mark nut to shaft before removal of pinion nut to replace rearend input seal. The shaft has a "+" and "2" ,the nut has an "m" scribed into it.Should I USE these marks or a torque value? Thanks for replying!

What sort of timescale are we looking at here? I don't have access to a lifter so looks like I'm going to have to take it to a garage and get it sorted for a £xx/hour rate..

Mine turned out to be the bolts securing the centre bearing had become loose so unfortunately I paid a bit on labour to find out It didn't need changing! If you can jack yours up I believe from looking at other posts that you can just about get to the bolts if that is the case..

Hmm no.. I'm afraid I'm not sure what that could be then..
Mine rattled at low rpm.. As the shaft spins faster at higher rpm it's rotational force straightens it out (That's how I figured it anyway!)

The typical problem so I've heard is that the rubber round the top of the centre bearing wears away, leaving it vibrating on the body work.. But as mentioned above it was discovered that mine had already been changed.

I'd advise doing a search for it.. Useful information other people may want is mileage, maybe wether it rattles at stationary/ in gear etc.

Sorry couldn't be more help!

So the only part that needs to be replaced is the "center mount" or number 7 on the Realoem diagram?

Has anyone ordered the full driveshaft and just replaced the whole thing? It's about $760 shipped from Tischer but it includes a Guibo and the CSB so its only an extra $550 and you save the hassle of having to press in/out the CSB and you get a fresh driveshaft and universal joints.

Thoughts?
