Driveline vibration getting worse....Had BMW check, they dont know!
Ive already searched but cant find the symptoms I'm having. My car starts vibrating in 3rd gear under any rpm all the way to 6th, and keeps vibrating until about 90-100mph where it backs off. Shakes my visors, and I can feel it strong in my butt! It doesnt do it under braking, and I cant feel it through the shifter or steering wheel. Ive checked and replaced my flex disc/guibo (just replaced my clutch), replaced tranny bushings, sway bar brackets/bushings and just had my tires balanced. It seems like it gets worse going around corners under throttle/ accelerating. One of my back rims was bent when I had them balance them. they said they balanced out. I also just replaced all 4 rotors and pads (started well before, so i know they're not bent) and all 4 cps.
Car has 80k on it.
Could this be:
bad wheel bearings
Drive shaft
Thrust arm bushings

If you press the clutch in, does it go away?

A friend of mine had a vibration in a E36 325 turned out to be the flywheel. It needed a new one as the balance had gone. I have no idea why though.

Could be your rear wheel still. I've had bent rims that balance out initially but a day later they are out of balance again. Also check tires for a shifted steel belt.

E55AMG2:
Not all the way but it gets better.
It does it more accelerating/constant speed. Goes away a bit slowing down in gear.
Jt2ma71:
Took it back to the tire shop where it was balanced at, they told me Belt seperation on my back tires. That may be true, but why would it get better slowing or w/ clutch in?

That means it isnt in the driveline, it's likely your wheels. Is there anyone local you could swap rears with to test it out? I would help, but you're 2 states away.

any leaks in the driveline like near the Diff?
is the guibo ok?
if you have the original bushings replace them
you have to get a new tire anyway so have them roadforce balance the new one.
I've had all these done + got new wheels but there's still some slight vibration at speed.
good luck.

Wouldn't the tire manufacturers DEFECT warranty (NOT MILEAGE warranty) cover such a defect? If a qualified tire shop tells you the tire is defective, and there is a warranty, and they are an authorized rep for that tire...well...

Ill check to see if I can replace them under warranty.
Too bad there is no one close to see if diff. rear wheels would fix it.
Guibo is new, all seals new/no leaking, replaced tranny bushings....

Is it worse when the car is cold? Does it come and go at all or is it always there?
