OT - Nissan 350Z your thoughts?

hey i was wondering what you thought about the new nissan 350z? i used to love the 300zx back in the day but i can't tell if the 350z is a toyota celica ricer or if it'll be a good car. they discontinued the last z b/c it was too expensive and sales were down so instead of just refreshining the design they came out w/ the 350z b/c nissan sales and image is down w/o a "sports car" but now this z fast approaches over 30 grand just like the last one haha but it seems like the performance and classic looks aren't there. i can't wait to test drive it tho and see it in person.

I saw one a few weeks back at a golf tournament in LA, and from what i got to see l thought it looked good, much better then the mag pics I've seen. It was a Jap spec car and was called some horrid name. It was tilted on a stand so it would have been better in a normal position. The side on view is very nice. Shoud go with the 3.5 in it.

From the spec sheet, it looks like it will have Boxter S beating performance for 20 grand less (the top of the line 350Z has an msrp around 35 grand)
http://www.nissandriven.com

They have a "build your own" thing under the 350Z section, you can see the differend models and colors and equipment and such.

I wish it still had T-Tops like the old 300ZX and 280ZX. And Nissan needs to make their cars talk again, and make the far out digital dash available as an option again

I'll reserve judgement until I see it in the flesh. As Apples said, the mag pics are throroughly unimpressive. Specs are pretty good on the bang for the buck basis and I like what Datsun, excuse me Nissan, has done with the whole product line.

I think the car is a design-type that seems to be gaining momentum in a number of prototypes. Design evolution is quiteinteresting and it usually takes some getting used to. I didn't like the E39 5-series when it first came out, but I don't think the new 7 will grow on me as much. The new Z seems well proportioned and should represent a nice performance car value for the buck.

I do believe that the design is growing on me!

All I know is that it's a hell of a bargain in today's age. Nissan is starting to look really good.
