Yup, it was done with a mill drill. Marked the location of the dimples by hand, though.

I added some rings to my 540 dash and it was a PITA. NOTE: If anyone atempts to install any type of gauge rings DO NOT USE super glue/crazy glue. It will vaporize inside the lens casing and stick to any finger prints etc on the inside of the lens. CSI uses this technique to locate finger prints... and trust me it works.

yeah man, super glue is nasty stuff. i wouldnt be surprised if the vapor could etch the cluster lens. it can ruin rx lenses in glasses.

As with everything, the first time is the trickiest. After that, it gest easier every time.

And they are friction fit, no way we're using glue!

Diny,
VERY impressive to say the least....I too would like to copy what you have done here.
Would you be willing to save me tons of time....and share your print with the dimensions of the rings,
so I only have to tear the cluster apart once for installation, instead of lots of down time
for the engineering. (you would make my favor owed, hero, and Christmas card lists if you do!!!)

Again nice work,

Randy

p.s.
how do you think these would look made of polished copper?
