I just recently installed JIC CROSS coilovers on my E39 M5 and am absolutely thrilled with them. Not sure what you are looking to spend, but if you talk to Michael at Acute Performance he was advertising them for $2,200, which s a good price. Best of luck whatever you decide to do....
From what research I've done, it seems the KW's are the best riding for the street. Linear springs will be best for pure handling and track prowess, but will suffer a harsher ride on the street.
What I dont get, and have not been able to get a straight answer on, is how do the KW V2's compare to the V3's as far as comfort and overall value in regards to eachother.
I've also read that the Dinan JRZ coils were amazing before they had problems, that and you cant get them anymore. But good luck on your search! The M5 is pretty floppy in stock form.
no such thing as good quality for cheap. You want to cheap out, you can pick up a set of Ksport's for $800 off ebay and get exactly what you paid for, junk. Or you can spend $2k+ on a set of PSS9's or KW V3's and also get your money's worth. In the middle are H&R's, FK's, KW V1/V2, etc. I'm going with H&R's when time and money permits, I've always used them and I love them, lack of rebound/dampening adjustability be damned!
Don't forget that you'll also need swaybars and camber plates to complete the whole package so you have a well rounded setup. You can also check out the Dinan suspension packages if you want to spend more $$ but get a more comprehensive kit.
There is SO MUCH info on this if you search it isn't even funny. SEARCH!!!

I echo this exactly. I will be using H&R when money permits, have always used them and always loved them. I've used them on Acura, Subaru, BMW, Honda etc. and am always pleased. Very high quality IMO.
Only problem with search is that SOOO much info comes up, its hard to decipher sometimes. And a LOT of it is old....
But I find it interesting that you would buy H&R which costs in the neighborhood of 2k? and it does NOT have any adjustability other than height? ....... to each their own of course, but I would want the adjustability.
I piece mealed mine into a DINAN Stage 1.5 (waiting to install RSB). I have been very happy with it. A couple of GB's for the DINAN stuff made the decision easy.

nah, H&R's are $1700, but it wouldn't matter if they were $3000, I'd still buy them even though they offer only height adjustability. I've never blown an H&R shock assembly and I've probably put well over 100k on a few sets over the years, never had one rust on me, and I've always loved the sharp ride and overall quality. Yeah H&R's are a little on the stiff side but if you don't like it, you're probably a girl
