I am seriously thinking of getting a front BBK, Brembo or Stoptech... is it worth it? I would want to pick up a front set for 2k...
Let the opinions begin...

How much is the respect and admiration of the non-BBK population of M5board.com really worth?
Ha.. well.. whoever wants to chime in.

Big brake kits def look cool, but rarely get used to the limit on the street...If you are tracking the car, it is absolutely worth the expense, and I would highly recommend StopTech...They are fantastic brakes....I've used them for years at the track and they hold up like nothing else...If you got dough burning a hole in your pocket, go for the BBK, but if just a street driven car, they will pretty much be just eye candy...that's my 2..

any other information is useless, thats all you need to know.

So true. Ill be honest with you, In some cases you would never get the full benefit of a BBK because some of the pads are pretty aggresive and if your not hard on them you'll never have them up to temp and get the full braking potential. Not with all cases though.
Pretty much 75% of the people you see with BBK's on the street have them strictly because they look cool, and will never reach their limits/potential. You have to admit, nothing looks worse than a nice 19" wheel with 11" rotors hiding beneath them. On the other hand, 19" wheel with 14" rotors with 6 piston calipers sure as hell looks mean!

get a slotted BBK with a good set of STREET pads, SS lines, and DOT4 fluid and yes it's worth it IMHO. You may not use them to their full potential every time you brake but you don't do that with your stock brakes either. It's worth it, at least to me, to know that when I mash the brakes at 100+ on the street, or wherever, that I'm not going to overwork my brakes bringing the car to a halt. I have yet to really cook my OEM brakes but I haven't pushed them that hard either.
I used Hawk HPS pads on my last BBK with OEM like cold performance and very good hard braking performance, and for that reason I've got a set of HPS's going on my current BBK shortly. Pad choice is crucial otherwise you'll be another one of the guys on here claiming your BBK is unstreetable. HPS's are NOT track pads though so don't plan on running them on the track at all, but they won't let you down on the street.

As said above, if you track the car, absolutely worth it and IMO even there until you get serious/good/start running very high-speed tracks, a rear kit is unnecessary as stock calipers with track pads and high temp fluid are just fine. If street only, spend the $ only if you want it for looks as the stock brakes are more than sufficient.

are you not happy with your current braking ability? Why not try a quality stock-esque rotor with a gnarly pad? I am running stoptech slotted rotors all the way around, and carbotech bobcat pads (heavy duty street pads) and couldn't be happier. Not sure I would ever need more braking power on the street, even after a few 100mph joy rides
If you are tracking the guy, brakes and tires should be your number 1 thing invested in, and it would be a no-brainer.
