Tire sizing advice needed, bought new wheels

Hey all,

I purchased a set of BBS RCs today (a la Johann), and the sizes are

18x8.5 in front
18x10 in back

My question is about the rear tires. I am planning to purchase Bridgestone S-03s but I was wondering if 285 width would fit on our beast. I have no doubt that the wheel will accomodate it, but would it rub on the fender if I went 10mm wider from 275?

I know that some people with Dinan wheels have 285 in back (Mark?),. Is there any rubbing?

Oh yeah, I have a stock suspension and probably plan to leave it that way. I have fit 6 people in my car before and no rubbing with the stock wheel-tire setup.

Thanks guys, I will post pics once they are in.

Rocket, 285s should work just fine in the rear. I tried 19 x 10 , 285-30 S03s on my beast and CM5GO's and they fit just fine.

Rocket,
I did have some rubbing with the 285's . Not on the fender side but on the inner liner side with a full load of passengers. I ended up downsizing to 275's for the rear with my latest set of tires. No problems now whatsoever.

Rocket,

Excellent choice!

I have 255/40-18 front and 275/35-18 rear on same sizes rims as yours.

Since the S03 are a bit rounder in the edger than Pilot Sports 285 should be just fine but with Pilot Sports I am not sure.

I think you no my opinion on the S03 so I will not ramble any more about it.

Cheers,
/Johan

steveB,

Which tires did you have on your car? Ok this might start a huge wave of opinions, but do you like your S-03? (Flame suit on and ready!)

MarkM5Lauderdale,

Which tires do you have?
Oh wait, you had Dinan stage III right?

Johann,

Oh yeah, I can fit 255 in front now, thanks for the heads-up. And yes, I am aware of your opinion on the tires, my flame suit is still on.

Thanks guys, keep them coming!

Boston,
Yes I have Stage III suspension. Was running SO2's on the Dinan Rims. Now have the P-Zero Rosso's. Nice quiet tire with a little less grip but longer tread life. I got me some track tires for play times!!
(note to Gustav) we need a smilie with a cowboy hat for my "YeeHaw's!"
