2001 M5 engine troubles!

While I was picking up my car yesterday at the dealer (I had Dinan CAI installed)..a black 2001 M5 pulled in with only 500 miles, and it was smoking profusely...and the owner said it had been using alot of oil before it began smoking... obviously, this particular motor has a major problem... and will probably need to be replaced?..

Just wondering if anyone else has heard of any other cars with major engine troubles?? either 00' or 01'???

On a much brighter note...my 00' M5 has not used any oil since the 4000 mile oil change... I now have 4600 miles... only time will tell?..

there was a major problem on '99 M5, i guess you call it major when a whole engine managemenet CPU fails? the car couldnt be driven at all, there was a complete loss of power, you could only move it in a limping mode to get it to the workshop
probably took me 20 secs at least to do 0-40 mph lol it was bad
