Motor Trend - April 2002 issue features comparo between ALL "M" cars vs AMG!

I just got the latest issue of Motor Trend, April 2002.

On the cover is a Laguna seca M roadster and a silver SLK32.

Inside features comparos between

white M3 cabrio vs silver CLK55 cabrio
anthracite M5 vs black E55
laguna seca M roadster vs silver SLK32
imola red X5 4.6is vs silver ML55

Guess which one wins the 0-60 times out of all 8 cars!

I don't want to type out the entire article but if any of you guys are interested I could post 0-60 times, 0-1/4 mile times/speed and the rest of the all important stuff.

It's a great issue! Go out and get it if you can!

please post the 0-60 times and also can someone please scan the article and put it up for us all to see?

Hmm... the X5 4.6is isn't really a M car.. but I guess we'll forgive them for comparing it with a ML55 if the X5 is the faster one..

*sigh* ... always forgetting the ugly duckling. I suppose it's because MB doesn't make anything quite as badass.

After reading more I realized that there's an extra section immediately following the "M" vs "AMG" articles that is simply titled "Behind the badges: BMW M & Mercedes-AMG." This looks like an interesting read.

I didn't think that any of you guys wanted me to ruin the suspense for you guys but since you guys insisted.

0-60 mph (sec) 0-1/4 mile slalom (mph)

BMW M3 cab: 5.02 13.63/103.76 67.07
MB CLK55 cab: 5.23 13.74/104.44 64.32
BMW M5: 4.6 13.08/109.41 66.96
MB E55: 4.99 13.46/106.71 62.84
BMW M road: 4.74 13.15/107.56 67.40
MB SLK32: 4.62 13.06/108.74 66.30
X5 4.6is: 6.2 14.76/93.59 63.13
MB ML55: 6.24 14.80/94.92 59.99

The interesting part is that the BMW M3 cab and M roadster tied for shortest stopping distance at 114 ft. The M5 did the deed in 116 ft same as the CLK55 and SLK32. The E55 did the deed in 120 ft. The X5 4.6is stops in 117 ft and the ML55 in 130 ft!

It's a fun article to read! Get it as soon as you guys can!
