Techno Violet E39 does exist !!

Mentioned this colour in another thread, couldn't find a confirmed photo of this colour anywhere.

Anyway, went to see the car today, indeed it is Techno Violet (code 299), was supplied new at the factory as an Individual option at the cost of nearly £3k extra, saw this on the original bill of sale.

A good bit darker than i was expecting - very much a dark blue with purple hues rather than BRIGHT purple like i was expecting - although it was a fairly dull day here and i'm sure in bright sunlight it would "pop" a good bit more.

BTW, i didn't buy the car, a tad rough around the edges for what i'm looking for.

Indeed, the awful bonnet badge was one of the things i didn't like!

Interior is the standard black with grey inserts (leather), with the walnut trim (think this was Individual too?).

Kinda disappointed it was a tad rough as it's a facelift one (late 2001 registered) - badly kerbed (and resprayed) alloys, scruffy interior, SatNav CD missing, quite a bit of bubbling/corrosion - as it seemed mechanically sound, passed the usual Vanos noise and Power button checks and drove sweet and straight. The search continues...

It's weird. I've never come across this colour before, and suddenly there's like 4 threads about it, from both sides of the Atlantic. I love it!

What £ were they asking for this one out of curiosity? (Ignore me - just read it! Doh! It's pretty cheap, so not surprised it's a bit rough)

Dealer forecourt £9,995 - seems circa £9k would drive it away - but needs a grand spent to make it A1 IMO, needs 2x rear tyres immediately for starters!
