switch near OBD socket

Hi could anyone tell me what the lillte toggle type switch near the obd socket is for.

My car is uk spec but when it is in one position you get a loud beep after the car is started but when in the opposite position the beep isn't there.
I ask this as when i was feeling around the car i caught the switch and wondered if it had to be in a certain position. Any Info would be much appreciated

ive done a search and it didn't really come up with much.

Blinder? My switch is located under the steering column but it makes a beeping sound when the ignition is switched on or I turn the switch on (if it was off before) and no sound if it is off.

As suggested above... is it a little rocker switch? (Do a search on Google for Lidatek)

Have look round the number plate area for some sensors or cut wiring....

On mine it is, it's connected through to the ignition switch so as not to drain the battery when the car is not in use.

Other than the initial start up tone it remains silent unless you are being pinged by a Scamera Van etc. (Is only intended as defence for lasers and not Gatsos, Specs or Truvelos)

But make sure you can see that diodes are connected somewhere on the front of the car, they can also be hidden in the kidney grills.
