LOL $2600 for those tinfoil things is highway robbery!
Tinfoil things?? I see a 4-1 equal length design with joints to make it easy to install.
Does anyone offer "satisfaction guarantee" unless they know their good.
Jst checked. $2600 includes both headers and High Flow Cats.

Bm Guru, glad you have had good luck with the headers regarding the fitment. Perhaps you could provide some dyno numbers as you noted before, even some install pics would be a great asset if you can. By the way, on this board anyone offering headers for an E39 M5 other than supersprint, Dinan, and a few other known manufacturers will have to do better than offering a "mirror" picture, some high flow cats, and "satisfaction guarantee" to make a sale. For example, Razahyde (accomplished board member) is working on a group buy for headers, he is providing dyno results to prove that they will work before he will sell them.
Hope you are enjoying your headers and we love pictures on this board!

If you are happy with them, good!Price is ok.And I'm not here to argue....
But for real high performance gains on a S62 this is nothing really good(the whole layout of tubes,collectors,..).Also the open wholes in the flanges to the head are a no-go!!!
I prefer to build my own headers anyway.
And yes,I have done that(on a few occaisions) with good results before
I for one, could care less what the name is. You won't see me paying 5k+ for a set of SS or Dinan headers. I've had experience with Ebay headers on E46M3s, and lets just say they leave much to be desired. Looks like thin 20 gauge stainless to me, but it doesn't specify in the ad.
As long as your header flanges aren't leaking, and you're happy with them, that's all that matters.

I got my e34 OEM headers out by just putting the car on stands, dropping the sway bar & front sub frame. Once you remove the starter motor you can do the whole installation from beneath without lifting the engine even once.
Yup, on the E39 its actually easier to just lift the motor 1/2" from the motor mount than to drop the subframe.

If you're paying anywhere near that much for SS stuff, you dont know the right people. It can be had, rather easily, for much less. Dinan is another story...but they will work deals out.

How hard can it be? Seriously? Do share

It's a bit tricky, esp if you want to build complicated headers (ie, ones with anti reversion runners or cones built in) however it's entirely doable if you have the time, skill, patience, as well as the tools.
