Bm Guru, glad you have had good luck with the headers regarding the fitment. Perhaps you could provide some dyno numbers as you noted before, even some install pics would be a great asset if you can. By the way, on this board anyone offering headers for an E39 M5 other than supersprint, Dinan, and a few other known manufacturers will have to do better than offering a "mirror" picture, some high flow cats, and "satisfaction guarantee" to make a sale. For example, Razahyde (accomplished board member) is working on a group buy for headers, he is providing dyno results to prove that they will work before he will sell them.

Hope you are enjoying your headers and we love pictures on this board!

James

If you are happy with them, good!Price is ok.And I'm not here to argue....
But for real high performance gains on a S62 this is nothing really good(the whole layout of tubes,collectors,..).Also the open wholes in the flanges to the head are a no-go!!!
I prefer to build my own headers anyway.
And yes,I have done that(on a few occaisions) with good results before

I for one, could care less what the name is. You won't see me paying 5k+ for a set of SS or Dinan headers. I've had experience with Ebay headers on E46M3s, and lets just say they leave much to be desired. Looks like thin 20 gauge stainless to me, but it doesn't specify in the ad.

As long as your header flanges aren't leaking, and you're happy with them, that's all that matters.

Yup, on the E39 its actually easier to just lift the motor 1/2" from the motor mount than to drop the subframe.

If you're paying anywhere near that much for SS stuff, you dont know the right people. It can be had, rather easily, for much less. Dinan is another story...but they will work deals out.

It's a bit tricky, esp if you want to build complicated headers (ie, ones with anti reversion runners or cones built in) however it's entirely doable if you have the time, skill, patience, as well as the tools.
