Actually--at least in the case of my 2000 Beast--BMW
did roll the fender lips. They may, however, need to be rolled some more. And from everything else I've seen posted here in the past, it is performed as warranty work.
On my pre-Beast (98 540i/6), a switch in tires necessitated having the fenders rolled. Ironically, despite being the exact same size tires from the same manufacuturer, the sidewall "tallness" varied from model to model. [I went from 245/40-18 BFG Comp T/A ZRs to BFG g-Force KDs. Absolutely SICK dry traction, BTW.

When I got the Beast and read about fender rubbing on this board, I compared the rear fender lips. Indeed, my M5's had been rolled at the factory.
Talk to your service rep, and call in the regional rep if need be.
