I was just at my dealer (Niello BMW of Elk Grove) tracing down a miniscule oil leak from the solenoid and I noticed an Anthracite "Beast" being worked on. My tech said it was having issues with MAF's.
I was just wondering if it belongs to a fellow M5Board member. I don't see many e39 M5's among my peeps, especially a color as rare as Anthracite.
Not only is it weird to find M5s on the road, but at the dealership also!
I remember that I came out from the Service office and they were supposed to pull up my car. So I'm outside and see an M5 coming from the service lot. But it's sterling grey! The guy comes out and I ask him about it. He then told me that mine was coming next and that, interestingly, mix-ups have occurred when they pull up 2 identical cars and the owners don't notice until they are out of the lot

Not necessarily true. I have a great relationship with my SA and SM. I get many things comped when I go in. I think they really just like driving my car in the service area.

I've only seen another E39 M5 once out of the many times I've been to dealerships (be it for service or parts shopping). The SM and SAs here love the E39 M5, and whoever pulls it up for me to drive home always gives a nice compliment. :P

Oh, and I meant that as a timing thing, not that M5 owners don't take their cars to the dealership.
