Yellow E39 M5?

New member here. Starting the process of finding the right used BMW M5 to buy. I happen to search cars.com and came accross this yellow 2002 BMW M5: 2002 BMW M5, $21,900 - Cars.com

The car is about 1 hour drive from me. I recalled there was a thread about the official colors of the E39 M5 and don't remember seeing yellow as an option. Can anyone confirm if there were any yellow M5 build? Thanks.

It could either be an individual or a custom paint. Your link doesnt work, though.

There are a few yellow cars from the factory and that seems to be one of them.

Here is a link that works:

Yea that one looks like a factory color. Even the engine bay is colored properly. And notice the trunk release handle in the trunk lid. I didn't know that M5s had that

Thanks for the quick replies and sorry about the link. I did notice that the engine bay color was also yellow so if it was individual paintjob, they didn't spare the cost and went cheapo like some repainted cars out there. I'm surprise that this color was mentioned/shown in that color thread...

I need to get myself a carfax account to check if there are any "bad" records against the car.

How is it in "Excellent" condition as their ad says when there is a huge crack in the front spoiler, the rear bumper is all scratched up in the center, ther rims are all curbed up and the seats look like a 500lb man has owned it?

Appears to be a factory... as I recall there have only been a handful. One is in my area, and is a board member. If you search on "Dakar Yellow" you may ID the prior owner(s)...
