The official used e39 M5 pricing guide

Hi everyone,

I've been shopping for a Lemans Blue M5 for about a month and have seen a lot of cars exchange hands.

I'll be searching until I sell my '99 M3: MD FS: Red '99 E36 M3 5spd excellent condition - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum
but in the meantime I'd like to try to compile all of the final sale prices here.

I'm hoping this thread will morph into a central location for posting all M5 transactions so we can make geeky excel charts and such to monitor trends, and determine local markets.

So if you sell a car, buy a car, or see a successful transaction and know the details let's post it up here.

I propose we stick to the following format:

Price, Sale date (month/year), State, Year, Color, Mileage, Notes

I'll volunteer to periodically dump the data into a spreadsheet, upload it and post the summaries if you guys just keep feeding in the raw data.

If this is already up and running somewhere I apologize, if not let me know if you have suggestions for ways to improve on the idea.
Anyway, you guys seem to have a great board, and I can't wait to get one of these for myself - this should keep me busy while I wait

2001 M5, Jet Black, 42k miles, North Carolina, August 2008, $24000

This thread will also be very valuable in selling our M5's as it will provide strong justification for the asking price we give the buyer.
