PS: i just read all 8 pages, plus the stuff on the other two boards, and if this is true - I hope Hennessey rots in hell.

Dan, you do know this guy. He's NO-MERCY from our board with the Z8 from H.I.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, NO-MERCY, and I hope you are able to recover your loss.

Rob: that makes it even worse. You know, the thought did cross my mind, but I hadn't made the connection. Thanks for pointing it out.

I'm *still* mad ... I think I'm goign to go to One Lap with a friend who's competing and pay a little visit to that fat *******. NO ONE, let alone one of ours, should be taken like that....

Sorry, I need to calm down a bit.

I'm just glad this jerk has never ventured into BMW tuning! I think he has been screwing "little" guys for years (people that don't have 250K cash to put into a toy car, don't have "right hand" men working for them, and don't have teams of attorneys - i.e. 99.9% of the population). He's made a huge mistake here by screwing with someone with the $$ to risk it all to make JH pay! All the others probably just cut their losses and didn't want to make the financial commitment to pursue the legal side of it. Perhaps that's why he doesn't touch BMW's as there are many here that have those kinds of resources.

This brings up another thought. These tuners must run a pretty low margin business despite the extreme costs to the customers. Think about it, very few customers and very high tech work with very sophisticated engines requiring a lot of intellectual capital and slow turnaround (see Apples posts). That puts them on shaky financial footing at all times. Each tuning is at least semi-exclusive, so there's next to no mass manufacturing profits to be had. One bad tuning job could destroy a year (or more) of profits. Of course, this assumes that the tuner would stand behind his work or he ended up defending himself in court.

BMW has infinitely more $$ than any of these tuners and they have engineered a wonderful, cost-effective, and profitable car! Trying to circumvent this in an attempt to achieve more does cost big, big $$$!

I think I'll keep any mods relatively simple if I ever go that route in the future. Nothing more than Stage III, brakes, etc. I sure hope that those on this forum getting the more radical mods end up with a pleasant experience!

Dallas Spikes, He did venture into BMW tuning and offered a number of M5 tuning products although never delivered on any of them. Owned a Red M5 for a time and had a couple of Videos on his site to demonstrate his exhaust and was quite active on this site for a short time. Not sure if anybody on here lost any money but hope not. SOB deserves everything he gets as he seems to have been doing this for a long time

What makes me angry is how Hennessey sold parts off the fellow's Viper. What makes me even more angry is how Hennessey basically stole a Viper and $150,000 in cash from the guy. The sad thing is that the fellow will probably never get his Viper or his money back. If I was in the same situation, I would rather see Hennessey burned, than get my car and money back.

How can Motor Trend and other magazines give Hennessey such a good reputation? All I have heard about Hennessey is how much he has ripped people off. A true SOB.

I remember seeing a post about hennesey ripping somebody off when he sold his M5. Did a search and here's the old thread:

http://www.bmwm5.com/vbulletin/showt...=&threadid=650

guess Hennesey's been up to no good for quite some time now
