hids4less delivering?

Hey Guys.

along with some of you I got in on the hids4less group buy. But I'm starting to feel *very* uneasy about the order. They promised a 2 week delivery and here we are going onto the 6th week. I know that some of you have gotten product, but is there anyone still waiting besides for me?

I guess I just want to hear from someone who has gotten product that these guys are legit.

Bailey,

I called Kyle at HIDS4Less about three weeks ago and I wanted to get a set of 9006 Stage IIs for my M Coupe and I mentioned the M5 group buy. He agreed to cut the price for me similar to the group buy, but he said that they were out of ballastse even though they had bulbs ready to go. I was just going to go down their shop in Rhode Island and pick them up, but for $70 or so, they could do the install while I wait. I called him at least once a week to find out about the ballasts since and last Friday they said they were finally going to get some ballasts in. I talked to him today (Thursday) and I'm driving down tomorrow to get them installed.

If you haven't received your order, I think that they really did have a shortage of ballasts. I'll have them installed by tomorrow night and he wanted me to come down at night so that they can get the lights aimed properly, which is obviously easier to do at night even though they apparently have a dark room where they adjust the headlights once they're mounted up.

They want 3 hours for the install, which sounds like a long time to me. I'll know more after I come back tomorrow and I'll be more than happy to post what I know about them. You should probably call him if you haven't heard from him lately.

Don't worry they are legit, I placed my order back in December and got charge the next day. I didn't get my order until mid January. I didn't get in on the group buy, so I paid $1400 for mine. Then after some complaining they sent me a check for $100. Still not as good a price as the group buy but at least they are legit. I don't like they way those guys does business either, they charged me for over a month before I got the product. But at the group buy price I don't think anyone can beat that.

I know many many people, including myself, that they gave the runaround. I have personally recieved my product from the group buy but was given three or four empty promises before they actually came through.

They are very disorganized and I think they got in over thier heads with the group buy. I was very displeased with their service and had to make all kind of noise to get them to get me my product.

I dont doubt that you will get your stuff but if you dont make any noise you will certainly be the last one to get it. I think the squeaky wheel gets the oil in this situation.

Call, email, show up there, do whatever you can to let them know that you expect your product immediately and it will eventually show up.

Just my thoughts

I was one of the first from this board to buy HID bulbs from HIDS4less.com along with MarkM5Lauderdale. I can say that Kyle was easy and forthcoming for me. Initially I had ordered these 6k bulbs from autolamps-online but I kept getting the runaround on concrete shipping dates. Despite the fact that HIDS4less charged more for their bulbs I went ahead and cancelled my order with autolamps-online and bought them instead from HIDS4less. I received the bulbs within the week and although Kyle did try to help me install the bulbs myself I ended up having a technician buddy of mine at the dealership do it for me. I was very happy with the upgrade and I think that for those of you that haven't received the bulbs yet, it's well worth the wait.

Jason,

I admit it was worth the hassle. I love the stage 2 lights and the new tails.

I just came back from getting my Stage IIs installed down at their shop. It's nice bunch of guys down there and they seem to be pretty busy with stuff. They're having a hard time getting supplies and now that they have ballasts in, they told me the same thing -- they have a bulb shortage now.

They're in it for the long haul and they definitely are not interested in ripping anyone off. They order bulbs and ballasts from Germany and have a local manufacturer build bases for them. They then assemble the pieces themselves, package it, and then sell it. They have a whole stack of catalogs and promotional materials that they're sending out.

Kyle said that there were a lot of M5 orders and they managed to fulfill most of them, but they ran short. I can understand people's frustrations (I had to wait more than 3 weeks to finally get an install done -- would have waited just as long for an order), but they do seem to be an honest group of guys. They gave me the M5 group discount price (sans M5) and priced the install at the quoted amount even though it took twice as long to complete than anticipated.
