Anyone have detailed torque numbers for an M5 - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

Hi,

I was looking at Dinan's website, and they have graphs showing the HP and torque at various rpm, Example:

2000 rpm = 310 torque etc,
2500 rpm = 313 torque
3000 rpm = 318 torque (I'm using made up #'s)
3500 rpm = 330 torque (again, made up #'s)

They only have these charts on 540's and other bmw's.

Does anyone have a chart similar to this for an M5? Specifically for torque?

I did a search on dyno results and found this chart from way back. This is rear wheel hp & torque. You can see how flat the M5 torque curve is.

Interesting to see wide variation in RWHP (327-350), yet less variation in RWT (323-333) amongst the various vehicles and tests (and dyno units!!).

Also, kinda strange how RaMsEs' torqe curve intersects the HP curve at ~6000 RPM, while the others do so at ~5300 RPM.

Nice to see a set of torque curves so flat you could skate on them!!

Hi Dave, to answer your question about the torque/hp curve intersection: Look at the scales for hp and torque....hp is on the left and torque on the right

IIRC, the horsepower and torque curves always intersect at the same point (rpm)?

I'm not sure that your post was a comment or a question. Using US ratings, torque & HP always intersect at 5252. The link below was posted a while back and explains it all. Be sure to go to the main page and check out the other parts to the article.
