Indy shop in San Francisco area for PPI?

Can anyone refer me to an Indy shop in the San Francisco, Bay area for a PPI? Looking to buy a car in that area and wanted a place where I can trust. Thanks ahead of time.

This is a little south of SF (about 45 minutes) but Portola Valley Garage is good. I've been getting my car serviced there instead of Dinan. PV Garage is also a registered Dinan shop, and they always have a few interesting vintage / sportscars in the shop in addition to the local neighborhood cars.

If you're talking San Jose instead of San Francisco proper, I would recommend Dinan Campbell, CA (408) 866-0606. I've been going there for over 10 years. It was A&E Performance back then and was purchased by Dinan about 1 1/2 years ago. Same techs and staff, though, and they know their stuff. They did the PPI on a Beast I bought in Feb 2008 and I wasn't surprised after the fact. I still take the Beast there for work.

Try Bavarian Professionals in Berkeley. They have a PPI program.

Edge Motorworks in the Oakland area did mine and I was very happy with them. Gave them some business on what they found and they did a great job. The PPI was $127.50 and Gordon (the owner) was very willing to let me know what needed fixing ASAP, what would need to be addressed somewhat soon, as well as minor things that should be ok but are a good idea to keep an eye on. He even stayed after hours to talk tires with me and gave me his cell phone number in case anything came up over the weekend. Great shop - just look at their Yelp reviews - 21 reviews, all 5 stars except for two 4's: Edge Motorworks - Dublin, CA

Heard good things about those guys. Also check out Sonic Motorsport in Mountain View.
