I never knew about No-Mercy's bad experience with HMS and now this Viper owner that got screwed out of $140,000. My goodness! I hope John Hennessey is put out of business once and for all. I thought Nowack was bad, but this guy takes the cake for being the biggest swindler in the tuner industry. Why don't the U.S. car magazines like MotorTrend, CarandDriver, and RoadandTrack print some of the negative experiences customers that have had and warn other people never to do business with him ever.

It is him talking. He has been known in the past to post under several names. There was some controversial stuff awhile ago and to clear himself he confirmed that he posts under his own name. I even got an Email from the board founder to make sure that I was not just stirring things up. There is much bad blood between Hennessey and former customer(s) and a former employee AKA Kyle.
I guess he never figured the whole world would be watching... we are you know

This is incredible! It is mind boggling how a person can stay in business pulling off things like these! Had it been my Viper I would have been very mad. But it fortunately looks like Taigs lawyers are coming down hard on Hennessey. I had never imagined that this could happen. Well neither had Taig I guess.

NO-MERCY, sorry for your misfortune! Rest assured you have done a good deed by informing others of your experience with HMS. The end is near for him, I believe.
On a lighter note, checking out those forums makes me all the more grateful for this board!! The reason I'm so hooked is we manage to discuss and debate and argue with reason and respect. And limited foul language.
I laughed out loud at the following exchange:

Dude if you came here for no other reason than to flame you will be banned and your account deleted. If you have nothing else to contribute to the board just say so and we'll delete your account right now. Every single post you've made has been nothing more than a flame.
So in summary contribute something to the board or get the **** out. Anything unclear about that??"
Now if that's not a shining example of modeling proper decorum, I don't know what is! I had a hard time discerning how Z06's post was any different from every other post on that thread.
I've had the 'honour' of dealing with worse business people over the last year... from what I've seen he may be able to walk away pretty much unbattered from the situation, especially if Tiag paid the money to the (now defunct) HMS company.
If Hennessey does have a weak legal position, his lawyers will likely advise him to settle out of court, whereafter he can keep his name clear and continue his 'business'.
As long as he keeps getting good publicity from the major car magazines in the US, people will keep bringing him cars & their hard-earned cash.
It's quite staggering ... John Hennessey seemed like a serious car enthusiast with a lot of respect when he first started visiting this board ... I wonder if he couldn't deliver on the Venom 1000 because the talent walked out the door ... in any case it's ugly.
I can understand No-Mercy and the other guy's situation ... most of us want to trust others. I just recently bought a car from photos ... fortunately it's worked out, although I had a scare when it came off the truck and wouldn't start (trucker snagged the fuel pump wire). Sometime the car passion takes over!
