Here is the video against my buddy on here who has Dinan 3.45 Diff, AA/AFE Intake setup, SS cans and XPipe, TMS tune.

BMW E39s Comparing their cars on Vimeo

As you can see (or can't really see) we are basically dead even from a 1st gear roll up to 120ish.

Just so I'm clear on this:

Your buddy's mods:
AA/AFE Intake
SS X-pipe
SS Mufflers
Dinan 3.45 gears
TMS Tune

Your mods:
Dinan Intake
Borla Muffler
Resonator Delete
Magnaflow race cats
TMS tune

I'll assume the following
Dinan Intake = AA/AFE Intake
SS X-pipe + SS Cans = Resonator Delete + Borla Mufflers
TMS Tune = TMS Tune

Which just leaves us with Dinan gears vs. Magnaflow Race Cats

Dinan gears do not increase HP at the motor, BUT, they increase torque to the WHEELS by 10%

So your cats gave you an almost 10% HP boost.

Did you guys ever run before you changed the exhaust?

That is all correct...

And I do believe we did run before my exhaust changes and again, we were pretty much dead even like all of our later runs.

My car has nearly 137k on the clock too and I think Aaron is around 80k?

I think it would be more accurate to say the Dinan 3.45 gears as well as the race cats provide very little help in a highway roll situation so the cars still are about equal.

Someone please tell me what the Dinan 3.45 gears do.. besides cost alot of money...

They have literally no gain on my car... James and I have rolled in 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear... etc

And my diff hasn't helped at all... Im actually thinking about selling it. Now that it has 1800 miles on it.... and make a 3.62 from my OEM diff.

Totally inaccurate, that's like saying that the gears and race cats only provide a benefit when starting from a stop. Our cars don't make less HP at 4000 RPM just because we start at a roll from 3000 RPM vs. starting from a stop.

High flow cats will provide an HP boost in the mid to upper RPM range, and the dinan gears provide a torque increase at any RPM and any gear.

Not to get into a 3.15 vs 3.45 debate, but there are countless posts by members much smarter than I that question the benefit of 3.45 gears in our cars. Just a few:

3.45 diff - hard data on acceleration improvement?

3.45 diff - hard data on acceleration improvement?

3.45 diff - hard data on acceleration improvement?

I will tell you what (hick talk) but going with the Borla mufflers and Highflow cats in my butt sure made a HUGE difference on the top end. I noticed it right away.
