With headers and an intake or exhaust, you would probably be ok with the stock computer.

With cams I would not. Either uninstall them or explain that the software allows the cams to work as they should

I think i am going to hook up air / fuel meter like in my 930 and just see if between 12.5-14 will be good to go.

in my car, i got an ses light and the car ran poorly. I had to run factory software for a short period of time for a bmw software update that was being mandated by the california dmv. Got the software update, then drove the car to dinan to get the software back.

why would a buyer of a heavily modified car want factory software that doesn't match the mods? That makes no sense.

Headers, gears these things dont mess with reliability like software.

I told him to just get factory cams i am giving him put back in factory cats which i am putting back in for him...I found another post on this forum where guy had mods and software he put factory software and made more power and af ratio was a lot better. Who knows, i think once you start changing nothing is same. Just save and buy faster car. I have a 930 but old school no computer easy to make go fast no place for check eng lite. I would bet that saftware would only give my car maybe 20hp anyhow. The computer must be able to compensate for cams and headers. I had bully dog in my excursion diesel you install works great for about 45-60 days then shifting starts to act up. Uninstall software drive for 5 min then download bully and you are fing for another 2 months, why? With all the lies out there about aft hp claims you totally trust software guys. I watched a guy guy a aem computer and try and make his own saftware and this dude was a smart buy everynight for 2 months finally got idle, cold, hot starts right rest was barely livable. I think manufacturers have huge rd in software, and too many places to screw up..i just want to get car going and sell
