Just a quickie......I use my leaf blower all the time to dry my M5 off after it's been washed.
It makes for much less wiping so much less potential scratching.
l can get the car almost 100% dry with the blower after it been detailed, as it blows the water off with ease.
Perfect for when she's not very dirty, and really only has a thin layer of dust covering the paint.......you just give it a good blast with the hose, then blow away, and you've never even touched the car.

So how many other crazy washer boys use the blower theory.

When l get home I'm going to come up with a way to rig the long vacuum hose......the one that gets plugged into the wall of your house....you know what l mean..... and find a way to rig it to fit the end of the blower.
Apples-

Here's where you can get a car-wash-quality 12' shop-vac extension hose. Then you can get adapters at Home Depot to fit it to your blower.

basil: What a great idea! How do you take those bumper strips off? :D

Removing bumper strips

Atomic,

There is a little notch on the bottom edge of each bumper strip. The front one's are on the trailing end and the rear one's are on the leading end. They will accept the toolkit's screwdriver with an old washcloth folded over it once.

I use the thumb-side edge of my left hand along with a curled index finger as a fulcrum point and easily pry out (but carefully) the bottom corner. The force is directed up, in an arc, away from the paint. I've done it without the cloth.

Then the rest can be pulled out by hand. Sometimes I give a slight twist up and down to release the tabs. Each strip takes about 10-15 seconds to remove and snapping them in is done just by hand... in a snap.

I have rear park-assist so I usually unplug the connector (think it just pulls straight out without twisting first) on the inner strip. I've washed the car with high pressure hoses and have not had a problem with shorting though a cap of some sort would be good.

I've removed them numerous times without the pieces becoming distorted or the tab connections weakening. I do the same to my 540 now.
