Strage M5 on Ebay - Thoughts?

Not looking to buy this, just came up in my normal DINAN search on ebay... Thought it was interesting..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-M5-Dinan-S1-2000-BMW-M5-6-Speed-Low-Miles-Dinan-S1_W0QQitemZ250454333156QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars _Trucks?hash=item3a503dd6e4&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A10|39%3A1|240%3A1308

The thing screamed at me when I opened it...
1. All the mirrors are non M5 mirrors...
2. it has orange side signals...
3. Looks to have a Mileage Tamper light on...
4. Doesnt look like an Alcantara headliner & pillar covers
It does have an M5 vin tag, but the rest of the car seems weird to me... 1 & 2 could just be personal preference (although weird if so, IMO).
Thoughts?
Matt

Hm. Looks like an M5 but then he has changed the rearview mirrors. The inside rear-view mirror looked like that on the old M5's. The rear seats and the front seats are different styles. Looks a little fishy.

if im going to buy an M5 i should be able to see the engine...
and im thinking it is a mock M5 made from a 528i or something. why does it never show the 6-speeds on the shifter they always seem to be glared...
awfully fishy if you ask me...

Good catch, didnt notice the seats... Looks like sports up front and comfort/standard in rear.
Looks to have aftermarket lights front and rear too...

Has a proper VIN sticker though... But on a quick google search I did come up with a 2003 Manheim auction listing that says

Ln Run Year Make/Model (Click to view details) Eng/T Mileage Color VIN AC Top
24 10 2000 B M W M SERIES M5 4D SEDAN 6G/6 27,447 RED WBSDE9347YBZ97027 X
says 6cyl heh...

It has the M5 speedo with 'M' badge + the 'moving redline' on the rev-counter. There are also M badges on the sides of the doors.

Bit of a weird one though...

I suppose you can always ask for a photo of the engine bay.

Or even express the reservations that we have come up with.

Those seats look like the ones from my 2002 530i sports package. I think whoever had this car prior parted out the M5 stuff, which is really f'd up. FYI, that light is not the mileage tamper light, so there are no worries there. However, I wouldn't touch this thing because if the prior owner didn't appreciate the car enough not to part it out, he probably didn't appreciate it enough to maintain and drive it properly. This thing comes back with 4 owners and clutch replaced at 8k. Auto abuse at its finest gentlemen.

Maybe this M5 was striped couple of years ago and he bought it and put normal 5 Series parts on it.

Or he did it like this bloke. http://http://www.bmw-syndikat.de/bm...BMW_-_E39.html
