Wiper just stopped working. HELP its raining!!

The rain is incredible today. My passenger side wiper came off the connecting rod and stopped working. I can move it up and down by hand so I and there is no resistance. I suspect that the mechanism either broke or the bolt that connects it to the "connecting rod" between the two wipers came off. Does anyone know how to get at the wiper mechanism? I see there is a rubber strip between the windshield base and the cowling held on by a few screws but not sure what is behind there.

problem solved. The nut that was connected to the wiper transmission was lose. I poped the cap off, tightened it down, replaced cap. I guess a 7 year old car gets a few screws lose now and again.
