Replace Handbreak Lever

I want to replace my ring style handbrake lever with the leather type since they do not sell the Ring style lever in titanium anymore here in Canada, when i ordered, i thought i be just getting the handbrake lever but that's not the case, i got the whole lever and the metal Chasse (core) which would make the install a more difficult for me.

Before i start to take the center console apart i was wondering if there is a DIY on how to replace the whole handbrake lever assembly. my search did not find any....
