iPhone 3.0 with stereo bluetooth. connection question

I have Bimmernav's BT unit installed on my 01 M5 and it works perfectly.

Now with the new iPhone 3.0 update that adds stereo bluetooth, will I be able to wirelessly play my pod through the BT unit or is that only for phone connections?

If it is only for the phone, is there a BT addon I could get to play my pod through? I know about Dice and all the rest but am wondering if I may be able to play the pod wirelessly now, with my existing BT unit.

I read a couple of articles and they implied that you could play the ipod through a car's BT device, just not sure that applies to us!

Excert from one of many similar articles;

7) Stereo Bluetooth
Just last week, I was complaining about the iPhone 3G's lack of stereo Bluetooth, when my iPhone didn't work along with an in-car FM transmitter I was reviewing. (Every other device I employed worked just fine.)
Well, that's about to change. iPhone 3.0 brings new stereo Bluetooth support to the iPhone and iPod touch, so users will be able to, say, listen to their iTunes music collections via wireless Bluetooth headphones and in-car systems.

I have the update for my phone but wasn't able to get anything working last night, just the phone.

I don't think the BMW bluetooth module supports the A2DP bluetooth profile. Devices started coming out that supported A2DP in 2006.

You would have to change your head unit to one that has BT 2.0 (A2DP). Pioneer, Alpine and Sony make them. Thats quite the change from ours. As much as Id love to stream my Treo to my stock setup its going to be hard, thats why I mentioned a Scosche BT add on as one of my future mods. Not even sure if itll work or not.

BMW's ULF module (which is what adds bluetooth functionality, as well as voice control) should work exactly the same. It doesnt care how the signal is broadcast because it's only BT 1.0 IIRC, and would work with reverse compatibility. With regard to playing music over BT, it aint happening....as the ULF module can only do voice/phone book/timer/signal.
