Niggles fixed, , , almost, MAF's prob shot, whats the latest?

Hi, maybe a couple of people on here remember I had a couple of issues with my newly acquired M5.

Bushes and brake discs replaced she's a much nicer drive.

She went to AutoKraft and they have done a great job;

Throttle is not too pleasant, very jerky, and I swear she misfires on part throttle but its almost subtle. However, its there, they said the fault code / codes thrown up relate to the MAF's, I asked them to have a go at cleaning them up and to be fair the car drove a little better, maybe, but its far from right.

I resigned to the fact that Im going to have to purchase MAF's so my question is where to get them?

Iv just called Sytner BMW (main dealer) for a top figure and its just over £500 (@$850) for the pair, OUCH.

Im certainly quite happy fitting them, or indeed just the sensors, so, right now, where's best to buy?

Im in England, and spent much of last night reading various MAF threads on here and so am keen to NOT go for VW pieces, I do want the proper Bosch Part which I believe is '029'

Any recommendations?

Right on bro !

I got them from these guys for £317 delivered ! Make you get the full Bosch Part numbers from the threads you read also, just in case, but it should be fine without !

Emission Controls.co.uk

Interested to know your MAF test results and what codes they saw to relate it to bad MAFS ?

Also I personally feel if you are fitting just new sensors into your old tubes then something is a miss, make sure you get the ones with new sensors already fitted into shiny new MAF Tubes

Thanks

Kumaran

Personally myself, i am having the same issues. When cold the beast does not like low rpm, especially around 1500-2300rpm. Feels like theres a lack of power and it hesitates. Once it warms up, it goes way, there seems like theres one spot at 2000rpm, where it kinda hesitates for a slight second.

I opted for the VW mafs. Reason being, out of everyone whos bought them, there have been perhaps a handful or people who have had bad luck with them. Personally, i think they just got defective ones, because a few of them noted after trying a second pair, it was fine. I got mine for a steal, so theres really no question. My LPH is way down to, im knocking around 119L/HR

Let me know how it goes once you put the MAFS in!!

so, are these problems after you've fitted the VW maf's, or have you not fitted them yet?

Are the VW maf's not curing the issue?
