beast power oval Valentine 1 mirror issue

I have had a BEASTPOWER Valentine ONE remote display rearview mirror in the car fro some time ... worked well ....no issues ....

the DREADED BUBBLE has now appeared.. seems to be getting worse.. it is now about 20% of the upper part of the mirror ....

It does not seem to be LEAKING at all ..
the questions is ... can they be fixed .......... I mean at all .......even if it is difficult ........could one take it apart and replace the fluid inside ...or top it off using the fluid from another good mirror ....sacrificial part.

ANYONE ever tried this ......... even if it is hard??

You are not going to like my thoery. I say theory cause I don't know for sure.

I always understood the mirror to be 2 pices of glass with a liquid trapped between during the manufaturing process. The rear piece of glass is mirrored.

When beastbower does thier mod, they scrape of the mirroring on the rear piece of glass to put there display one, in those sections you are looking through the glass at the display.

The dimming occurs whe nan electrical current is applied to the liquid casuing it to change states or whatever reducing the clarity between the 2 piceses of glass thus reducing the amount of light reflected back to you.

With all that being said, it is not possible to 'refill' the fluid. What might be possible, is to get a new mirror, dissassemble it, send the glass to Beastpower (I'd actually check local glass shops to see if they could do it since you have a template) for scraping then reassemble the new glass into the old housing.

In any case, it is going to be a pain.

"pain" is okay ..... impossible is not so thrilling .....

I really don't want to spend $1000.00 for a new one ....

it all works okay ... just the fluid level is now not 100% FULL ...

ANYONE taken a auto dimming mirror apart ?

Why wouldn't you consider a Stealth 1 for 1/3 the cost?
Regards,
Jerry

+1 I'm not even sure that the Beastpower mirror is still available. When I check 6-8 months ago, I couldn't locate one for sale.

Mirror woes

I took mine apart & had the local glass shop cut me a new one for less than $60....maybe less than $50? No dimming, but I don't care. Check this thread.
