E46 M3 and E39 M5 Fun!

I have never been to a race track before, so TeezM3 and I head out last night to Rockingham Dragway (www.rockinghamdragway.com) . They have this going called Fast Fridays where you can run the 1/4 mile for free and so forth.
When we arrived, they were not letting cars lineup anymore, but asked the guy really nicely if he could just let the M5 and M3 be the last to line up He agrees, and TeezM3 and I are lined up!!!!!!!!!! So we have the Imola E46 and LeMans Blue E39 waiting to feel what it feels like to drive these cars to the max in a controlled environment!!!!! I am alone in the M5, but Teez has a passenger with him. Ok, we agree to a rolling start from the green light and Teez has decided he will do it with DSC off - I kept my DSC on.
Time to lineup!!!
I soon get the hang of how they co-ordinate the positions of the car with the amber lights in front of us. M5 on left. M3 on right.
Light turns green and we are off!!!! Rolling start then BAMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! I hear the S54 motor of the M3 and see it in front of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That car flys!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, the E46 M3 won the race by .1505 secs and I am hoping someone can explain the printout they gave us at the end of the race!! It was real fun and I would like to go back - that was just too short and it was the first time so now I know what to expect the next time!!! Loads of fun and did I mention that the E46 M3 rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stats: M5 on Left, M3 on Right

R/T: M5= .936 M3= .656
60': M5= 1.970 M3= 2.025
330: M5= 5.079 M3= 5.209
1/8: M5= 7.530 M3= 7.830
MPH: M5= 103.59 M3= 92.64
1000: M5= 9.646 M3= 10.148
1/4: M5= 11.738 M3= 12.168
MPH: M5=97.88 M3=110.15

Now if someone could be kind enough to explain the stats, that would be awesome!!!

Safe driving!!!

1/4: M5= 11.738 M3= 12.168
I presume these are in seconds sooo m5 won by about .4?Could anyone clarify?

Adam,

Geeezzz!!! You seem to be absolutely right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See what I meant when I said that I need someone to decipher these stats for me

I looked at the printout again and it says:

seems very strange that when the M5 at 1/8 of a mile, the trap speed was 103mph and then by 1/4 mile it was slower at 98mph? Did you slow down towards the end? :p

You would have really rocked the M3 if you were a little quicker on your reaction time (R/T) your friend in the M3 got you by almost 3/10 on reacting to the green and you still won!! That shows what that V8 power will do !!!!

You should have videoed that little outing!

Unless your cars are both seriously modded, i think you put the wrong numbers for your 1/4 mile times "1/4: M5= 11.738 M3= 12.168 "

That time slip is all screwed up

It looks like they just gave you a bogus timeslip. The numbers are all mixed up. Maybe the rolling start threw off the timing computer or maybe the track didnt have it set up correctly for your run. You might as well throw it away.
