Anyone ever seen this, I found it on bmw5.com site, it was a really old thread, I (probably like many others) could do with this to replace my pathetic stock cup holders that fall to bits everytime I open them, I don't want to buy an original replacement cup holder that will do the same after two openings..........

CUPHOLDER DELETE TRIM PIECE INFO:

Oh, I think I found it. Try BMW part #51168256292. (#6 in the picture)

RealOEM.com BMW E39 525i INSTRUMENT PANEL OF CENTER CONSOLE

They offered this on the 5-series non-M cars. All the M's came with cupholders which is why you won't find this on the M5 realoem.com page.

Look at the regular 5-series and you'll see it. The part number listed is the SCHWARZ (black) color.

Also, disclaimer. I have no idea as to the fitment of this part. I'm just trying to help point everyone in the right direction....a part number for the alleged part #6.

In case anyone is wondering, #18 on the realoem page is a can adapter that was only made available for the Japanese version of this car. Apparently, the Japanese have smaller cans (pardon).

Both my wrecked 528 & 523 cars have this #51168256292 part in them. They're satin black, not 'cubic' though. But my road car still has the craptastic cupholders which arent broken yet.

I'm not selling either of the pieces- I'm waiting for the cupholders to bust on my car, then I'm using one of them, and the other is getting switch mounting holes cut into it :) Cant the dealer or a wrecker get you a set?
Cant you make a nice carbon fiber blanking panel out of some thin sheet?
