ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring

Well the sun was shining, and why not, get in the old beast and have a nice drive on the 'bahn... on the way to the 'Ring...

So I'm cruising along at 240kph, no worries, and then time for a brake check - of course, one of those guys that failed his German drivers liscence 3 times (they get a yellow plate - Dutch - HA - just kidding my Dutch board friends) pulls out in front of me.... - oh well... - - on to the 'ring...

I arrive and Frits is there, so we go for the stroll and check out the cars etc , and then out for a couple laps in Frits M3, excellent - thanks Frits...

-a normal Sunday, too many different types of cars to list, of course lots of BMW's, Mercs, Porsche's, Lotus, a couple Ferrari and other cars etc - - these are the ones that caught my eye for one reason or another;

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1482.jpg ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1497.jpg

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1500.jpg ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1503.jpg

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1494.jpg ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1493.jpg

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1507.jpg ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1509.jpg

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1530.jpg ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1559.jpg

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1542.jpg ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1543.jpg

And old gramps, in his classic, and after probably 10,000 laps in his lifetime, he purrs around at a 8:30 BTG with his eyes closed...

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1554.jpg

...and then something you don't see everyday, Frits looking at a Calloway vette...

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1486.jpg ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1484.jpg

After more eye candy etc, time for lunch - - TIP of the day - they have a "new" restaurant there (see PIC) DON'T eat the burnt burgers, just go to the one at breitscheid...

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1496.jpg

Later Russ joins us, and we had a nice chance to see his Z4 - beautiful...
Now there was more than one Ferarri, and no doubt they wanted the chance to park next to Russ' and my car

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1533.jpg ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1537.jpg

I wonder what car the girl is looking at - - of course, the E39 M5 -
ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1541.jpg

Later Russ went for some laps with Frits - why are these guys smiling?

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1549.jpg

- - I think if they could do this every day - of course they would...

Then Russ and I went out to take some pics of cars on the 'ring, Russ got out close for a pic of Frits doing a lap.... - - no, I don't have the knads to get that close...

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1574.jpg

So; many kinds of cars on the 'ring, like the 'ring taxi that you expect to see, as well as the endless Porsche and Lotus etc - - if I only had one euro for every lap a Porsche has done on the 'ring...

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1588.jpg ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1599.jpg ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1634.jpg

and then, unfortunately, too many of those sunday drivers...

ANOTHER Sunday at the Nürburgring-img_1637.jpg

which reminded me of the young guy I talked to while out looking at cars - - he had a nice new mustang, then oops, I saw him

You have to respect the old lady 'ring... - - she can bite you if you aren't careful...

Anyway, I got back, time to do a lap in my old beast, which I don't normally drive when really crowded due to those small knads, and the sunday drivers, and the steering problem I'm still working, and then the rain started, oh well, another Sunday...

.

I loaded them all to an album, then tried to drop in the link, that didn't work, so back to the load each one at a time....

note to Gustav - there MUST be an easier way, and please don't refer me to the outdated 2005 sticky or whatever it is...
