Replaced tranny, now the engine wont start?

So I replaced my transmission, went to start the car, and it will not start. The battery was dead, bought a new one and now the engine turns like it wants to start, but does not start.

Note: The car was parked for about 3 months and I would go and start it, let it run etc. and the engine would perform perfectly.

Is there a ground cable on the transmission somewere that I missed? I got under the car and did not see anything un connected.

lol I believe the starter and wires are in, the engine is turning over.

I removed the sensor and it was definately messed up. I took the sensor out of my old transmission which looks like it is in much better shape but am awaiting my mechanic friend to come over with his tools. I don't want mess it up by installing it at the wrong depth.

The wires i am speaking of go to the crank sensor and there is a plug near the starter to remove the loom. I would suggest that or the actual crank position sensor tat is on the bellhousing.
