///M Logo or ///M 5 Logo on front grill?

I have seen a couple of E39's with the logo on the front grill. First off, which logo did you guys use? Just the "///M" or the "///M 5"

For those that want to chime in which do you suggest?

Next where should I put it? On the Kidneys or in the lower grill?

Last, how did you guys mount it? I cant see how the 3M tape would work with the fins in the kidneys or the diamonds in the lower grill.

Thanks!

It's a specific logo with 2 long "screws" that you secure to the grill with nuts.

It's mostly just the M and you can get those on ebay. Just do a search for BMW GRille emblem or something along those lines.

Thanks.

I assume it can be mounted to either grill then.

I wouldn't put it on my car and here's why: The whole idea of the M5 being kind of a low-key badass 5 series is just lost with the new M5 and its 40 billion M5 logos. It's just not discreet anymore. The average joe doesn't know what the car is until you light 'em up at the light. So for me, no badge.

I have seen a few too, and they are invariably not M powered.

Let the chrome grill and massive bumper do the talking, perhaps with some CAI adding a bit of functional attitude.

I think it's all a matter of taste. It's your car, if it looks good to you who cares? I have one because my car is Jet Black with black/white carbon roundels and body color painted grills. So I added it with the white/gray/black stripes to add a little contrast to the front end. In my opinion it looks awesome. I have seen other people out there put these on non-M cars but they could put our rear one on a 540i also (which I've seen before and just laugh but if it makes the owner feel better I'm not fighting them over it) Hell the other day I saw a 318ti with an ///M3 badge on the rear hatch!

I bought one off eBay and mounted it on my hood grill. It looked good for a bit but I got tired of it quickly. It was to much ///M in your face and I like being discrete. I've seen it mounted on the lower grill and it looks pretty good but you pretty much have to take your front bumper off to tighten the screws. Its not difficult it just takes a little time and effort.

Its up to your personal taste.

It gets too crowded and it is not stock and mnever instaleld from BMW, so dont. On the E34 M5 however it was on as stock OUTSIDE the kidney.
