Brake disc (Rotors) question

After having a look through the M-registry I noticed the USA vs the Europe M5's have different front discs?

European has floating discs to get rid of heat quicker thus less chance of warpping and USA cars have 1 piece no floating.

My question is why?

Does the USA cars discs warp easier if not why the difference?
Next question would USA discs fit European cars and visaversa?

Search will pull up a lot on this. Yes euro rotors fit US-spec cars so i assume reverse is true. Lots of US guys go to euro rotors as an upgrade. Euro rotors are even cheaper I think and are available from a number of sources.

I've had both the US and Euro disks on the my M5 and haven't seen any noticeable performance differences on the street.
