Wierd accessory panel

Anyone know why this 2002 M5 would have buttons for seat massagers? See attached pic. I'm pretty sure it was not an option. I am in the market for an M5 and came across a 2002 M5 with this panel. The owner has no idea...... thoughts, comments, etc.

There was an option, but the cars that had it came with the comfort seats...

Agreed. This was not a US option, but perhaps this was one of the BMW Individual M5s that a few owners have been able to order over the years. Or, perhaps it was a Canadian car (not sure if it was an option there).

Hmm...I've not seen that (not saying you are wrong of course). When I was looking I focused on MY 2002 and 2003; I have the official BMW booklet for both years with options listed and there is no mention of the comfort seats. I actually almost ordered a new 2003 M5 and went over every possible option with my dealer.

Perhaps 2000 or 2001?

I forgot to mention that I asked the owner if they are functional and when pressed they do not do anything. Although the current owner was not the one who put it in, it is wierd that this panel is there and 2 of the buttons dont belong to a function. The current owner did say he read his entire owners book with no mention of the massage seats. Maybe the prior owner put it in for some reason. The car is a 2002 for sure. VIN checked out.

The car has parking sensors so one of the buttons has to be PDC.
