I've had this exhaust for a few weeks now, but I knew that I couldnt make a thread about it without the much-desired videos of it. Yes, there are a bunch on youtube and even here, but you gotta post your own
This is my second exhaust upgrade. My first one was the Magnaflows 14815s. I liked them for a while, but was never happy with the way they were installed (Midas sucks). I was not really happy with the way they sounded from the outside, either. It gargled a bit.
Still, I did not want to spend a lot of money on exhaust, especially when it's just to change the noise. I came across a number of threads about the Hayward & Scott exhaust and they seemed pretty good. Listened to some clips and was immediately sold. Well....not immediately. I asked a ton of questions about noise, drone, tip sizes, tip styles, etc, etc. The price seemed right up my alley at about $1000 US dollars (depending on currency value that day).
I went ahead and ordered the small boxes with the 84mm tips. At the time, I got them for $1,030 shipped to New York. Installation was done by M5 Deamon (That's George! Quite the Bugs Bunny job you did). Everything was ready to install except for clamps that you'd need to attach it to the stock exhaust pipes.
I absolutely love it. In the cabin, they drone a lot less than the magnaflows, but the beautiful tone seeps through the cabin at any gear if you blip the throttle (yes, even in 6th). I remember asking people if they were getting a headache from the magnaflows (never got a yes, but better ask), but now I wont even think about asking with these. At full throttle, however, they are louder than the Magnaflows without a doubt.
Every overpass guarantees that I mash the throttle (with the sunroof open). No tunnels yet, but I expect those to be quite nice to drive in.
I get comments about the sound the car makes left and right, and when people say "it's loud," they immediately clarify that they mean it in a good way and not in an obnoxious kind of way.
At normal speeds, it's quite nice. It all depends on how you treat the gas pedal at any gear. Cruising at 75mph at around 2,600 RPMs in 6th is about as quiet as stock, but teasing the gas pedal will make for a nice growl.
I clearly recommend this to anyone who wants good sound without spending a fortune (build quality is great, by the way).
Sounds very good and throaty. I am quite impressed. What other models do they offer the exhausts for?
As it is with exhaust vids, they never sound like they do in person. Still, a vid's a vid
As for other products, I'm not sure what/if they offer for BMWs. Their website shows a lot of products for Subarus, Mitsubishis, Jags, and Porsches. No listing for BMWs, but they are making stuff on-demand. I suggest just emailing them (I've been dealing with Ian, who is very helpful) and just ask.

I can say that I have heard Devilhunter's exhaust in person and it sounds menacing to say the least !
I was seriously considering the Hayward & Scott also but I for some reason want a mod the same day I decide I am going for it !! So childish ! H&S needed a a few days to get them ready and I couldnt wait so pulled the trigger on the Millteks....More money but I got them on the car the same day, and drove 120 miles to get them too !!
A lot of the UK guys have gone for H&S back boxes ! I presume you have kept the stock resonators ? I think H&S offer a slightly bigger box for the people who want to discard their stock resonators !
Cool! I do like the H&S sound, but i wanted something louder so plumped for Eisenamm Race and an X-Pipe, and i love the V8 sounds now, sounds like canned thunder :P
cheers and enjoy
