sometimes if you google the vin number you can get the history(Its possible some other dealers or people tried to sell the car and posted the vehicle history)
With that in mind here is the link
AutoCheck Vehicle History Reports: VIN Check, Your Report

I'm not the M5 expert but know that the '00 models are a little different than the '01-03 models.
If anybody can help me out on this. I was told the 00 model had some flaws that were fixed on the 01-03 models.

Its not perfect, but its pretty cheap.
A couple thousand in repairs and fixes will undoubtably be in order.

But, there is a recent post about a guy that just bought an '03 for $22,500.

You would need to look at it and get a PPI before making an offer.

Also it was orig a Canadian car so you would want to make sure that the instrument cluster has been swapped for the US.

It looks to me like the wheels have been painted - and not the OE shadow chrome either. You really need to like that interior, as I suspect it may be a hard resale.

And honestly, for a 2000 with those miles, I think it's still a little pricey. But it's at a dealership of some kind, so I'm sure it's marked up a lot so that they have some "wiggle room".

Best of luck,

Michael

in 03/2000 The pistons were revised. What they were trying to achieve is still a mystery to me, as many 01+ owners have still discussed high oil consumption. AnyWay 03/00+ in essence have no differences with other years, besides cosmetics upgrades(lights) and interior uprgrades(nav, steering, clutser)

How is 80 some odd thousand miles high for a 2000 car? That actually is pretty normal or low.

Its my understanding that after 2000 they "fixed" the carbon buildup issues.

Might want to search "2000 e39 m5 carbon"

Food for thought and I may be wrong.
