Odd Clutch Behavior

With about 10k miles on a fresh UUC organic direct fit, some slipping occurs. She passes the 3rd gear test fine, but very occasionally, I can get some slipping in 4th or 5th under heavy accel.

I know, sounds like it may be clutch time again soon. My real question is: Why would this occur when the drivetrain is cold. I always wait till the tach lights are out to abuse the beast, but the only consistent thing about the slipping is that it occurs in 4th, 5th, and just after the tach lights go out.

Does operating temp make that much difference to a clutch? or could it be the dual mass flywheel slipping more when cold?

thanks,

ssomed

Yes, temperature has allot to do with it. Slipping occurs before things expand when they are heated up. I had the UUC organic clutch and it would slip more when it was cold too. Its just a matter of time until it starts to slip in third gear. Call Rob at UUC and let him know, it is a topic that has been discussed in detail in other threads on this board. The clutch is defective and needs to be changed ASAP.
