Clutch Friendly Dealers in NJ?

Well, it has happened to me too, after only 14000 miles of what I would certainly called "conservative"" driving, the clutch is starting to slip. The dealer agrees and says the clutch needs to be replaced, but won't do it under warranty. Has anyone in Northern NJ had any luck getting a new clutch under warranty???

Thanks
Anthony

Hey northern nj guys...as far as these kinds of issues...do u think park ave is better or worse than prestige? Also if any of you guys use the car as a daily driver, how do u feel about maintenance in the long term? Is it gonna require a lot of maintenance besides the typical services?

I have never used Park Ave. service before, I know one of the dealers there and he is a real jerk so I avoid them all together. Besides, Prestige is 2 minutes away from me an I am very happy with them.

You asked about maintenance in the long term. I would think that answer could vary depending on how you drive the car and how you take care of the car. How hard do you drive it? How often do you wash it? Are you shifting the right way? In traffic a lot? We could all answer these questions differently.

I spend about 3 hours in her every day going to and from work in the city. The weekend is a different story, I go upstate and open her up. I try to wash her about 3 times a week and I am not going to change my oil when BMW tells me to. I do drive the car hard sometimes and I do spend a lot of time in traffic so I am expecting the normal wear and tear.

I would think that if you take care of the car, keep her garaged, change the oil more often then told to, etc., the car will last a hell of a long time.

Thanks Harry. I'm also 2 minutes from prestige but I am getting a deal I cannot turn down from park ave. I doubt that prestige would do me any favors with a car bought from somewhere else..thats why im asking.

As far as how i treat my car...ill also spend about 3 hours in the car each day...weekends, prob the same but having more fun with her. I wash my cars 1-2x a week, and change oil at 3-4k religiously depsite manufacturer suggestions. So I guess i feel more comfortable with the car now...prob a lot closer to putting in the order for april...ill keep u guys posted...or youll jsut know if u ever pass the stateline diner andu see the m5 parked behind the s430 or the clk55 in the exit!
