e39 M5 Koni yellows vs. E39 540I Koni yellows?

Now heres the thing. On flea-bay the E39 540i koni yellow are claimed not to fit the E39 M5 and they cost $708.00. Now the e39 M5 koni yellows(which also advertises the 540i) cost $960.00 however, after I crossed references both part numbers and they matched up to be exactly the same.
(2) FRONT 8741 1372
(2) REAR 8240-1156

I know the design of the actual strut/shocks are the same, so fitting them will not be the problem. I would like to know if anyone has different part numbers from the ones that I have posted. Are both interchangeable? I really do not see why not.

I installed the same ones FRONT 8741-1372 and REAR 8240-1156. If the part numbers match than they should be the same.

Never, ever buy dampers off auction site. You run into two problems.

1) they are likely not a recognized Koni dealer, so Koni will not accept the reciept as if you bought themn new. The lifetimne warranty becomes void.

2) If the dampers are old stock, the seals may have relaxed or hardened and the hydraulic oil may have leaked out. There's also a good chance the date codes will not match. Dampers should be fresh and preferably matched lot/mfg date.

You speak about fleabay like it's a single vendor. Couldn't farther from the truth...some are winners while most are losers. Application errors come in various forms. The 6 cylinder E39 uses different front Koni Sport dampers, but all V8 E39 Koni Sport damper is same part# front and rear.

Deep discount Konis are sold by reputable dealers including forum sponsors for similar cost. Try tirerack. Pay an extra couple bux to avoid as-is junk or scam.

when I had my window tinted they quoted me $250 for my m5. Later I called and got a $150 quote for a Honda Accord for the same type of tint. This kinda of BS happens to me all the time in the ferrari.

If you take these and add the Dinan spring set, do you end up with the Dinan Stage 1 suspension?

I hear what you are saying, actually one of the few questions i asked him was, "are you a koni dealer?" seeing that he has 10 in stock. I did see tire-rack advertise these at $898.00, however I don't see the need for the extra $200 if this comes with the same factory warranty.
