My PAC SWI-JACK is defective. I can get the steering wheel buttons to interface with the unit, but the output does not work. I talked with PAC to confirm this, I am sending it back to the seller and getting a new one.
Rear speakers are installed, and I put the rear deck back together. The only speakers I have left to do are the passenger door.
I am still haveing issues getting the head unit lined up properly. I need to bring the actual mount for the deck in to work and drill out some holes a little bigger so I have some play/more adjustment to get it lined up perfectly.
I am making good progress in the trunk getting everything wired up. I just need to build a mount for my power distribution, 1 farad capacitor, and the CD changer behind the panel on the right side of the trunk. That's right, I am going to have a 6 disc CD/DVD changer on the left side of the trunk and a 6 disc CD changer on the right side behind the panels. Why? Because I can. I had an extra 6 disc changer, and my CD/DVD changer as an input on the ai-net for one, so why not?
I won't be able to do too much to it this week, the kids have too much going on. I should be able to get a lot done next week, hopefully finish it up.
Sounds like you are making good progress, keep it up!!
If you haven't yet spent the money on the capacitor, my advice is Don't. They are marketing hype and will add little / nothing to your system...

I had one from a previous install I did. I feel as if they make a little bit of difference. It helped with the headlight dimming in my E46. I hook it inline to my sub amp only.

Slow and steady. The wifey is getting tired of me cranking my system in the garage jamming out while I drill, screw, saw, and swear about working on the car..... I hate it when things don't go as planned. I have come so far, but still have a LONG way to go.
Oh, and it's only 2 pages if you set the posts per page to 50!
Caps are the biggest audio scam ever...I know because I used to sell them at a certain retailler (along with other crap).
Ok, so I have 2 of the most experienced people on the board telling me a capacitor is a waste of time. I guess I will just omit that from my install. I already OWN it, should I really not bother putting it in?

Its not going to hurt anything....it's just that they dont exactly work like people think they do. At most, the power they store/output helps momentarily. If you want to install it, I dont see any harm.
