^^ Given the shape of the Alpine mic, I didn't see how I could mount it in the factory location. It is a bullet shaped microphone with a flat mount plate. (I'll take some pics in the morning)There really isn't anything I can mount it to up inside that pocket that houses the factory mic. I pulled it all apart and took a look at it. I planned on getting everything set up, and trying it in a few places to see where I can get a good sound from. There is a small metal shelf that I set the GPS antenna on. I put double sided tape on the bottom and kind of jammed it into it's new home. It is trapped between the dash and that metal plate.
Drill a hole and glue the mic into place? Also, how did you account for retaining the BC functions?
Tim, thanks for your help still have alot of clean up with the wires, I also have sound but no radio signal do I need an adapter? if you figure out how to get radio signal can you please post how to get signal
Congrats, Tim! I know exactly how you feel. I heard music through my (not yet fully complete) install today. I still have miles to go before I sleep--I need to fashion a custom bracket for the DQXS, run wires to the center console for the DDC and the iPod SpecDoc, and (so I discovered) learn how to make the gazillions of adjustments to the crossovers, amp gains, input and output levels to make the music beautiful. But just hearing the tweeters and woofers work as they should and knowing the RCA's are all hooked up right, and the remote leads are working, etc. all was immensely satisfying. I can only imagine how you must feel, given how extensive your install is. CONGRATS!

Tim,
Did you run your rca's wires on the drivers side of car and the alpine deck wires on the right side of the car.
With my system, I did not have to run RCA's to the rear, just an AI net cable. My Alpine Imprint module is in the trunk, the AI net goes to it, and the RCA cables come from the Imprint module to the amps. I ran all of my wiring down the driver's side. The power from the battery in the trunk to the engine runs on the passenger side. You want to aviod getting near that to protect your sound from noise.

Thanks Peter! I played with it a little more this morning. I have a few kinks to work out, but am very happy with how it is going. Once I get the subs done and the Imprint module set up, I will do some of the final touches. I have a few little tricks I like to do to my systems to make them look a bit more stylish.
