Brake disc advice

Just took my car in for a clutch and got a call to say that my brake discs and pads were in bad condition and needed replacing. I agreed on the advice of the technician who estimated that they only had approx 200 miles left in them. As this was about a weeks motoring for me I decided to have them done at the same time as the clutch at a cost of £640. Wanting to see the state of the discs I asked the dealer to put them in the boot so I could have a look for my self. Them agreeing to this gave me some confidence that the discs must be in a bad state.

On a quick inspection when i got home my own thoughts are that the discs look not too bad. Even wear across the surfaces(front and back), no discolouration, cracking etc and with only approx a 3mm rim.

On this basis does anyone know the minimum thickness for discs. I don't want to create an issue until I have some good information to work from. Any help would be most appreciated.

Regards
John.

Min. thickness should be stamped on the rotor (if they're the stock ones).

Actually, you only get 1.6mm of total wear before they are done. In front, the rotors started out at 32mm thick when new and the minimum allowable thickness is 30.4mm. In back, the rotors started at 20mm thick and the minimum thickness is 18.4mm.
