OT : Hemi grunt - who has experienced it?

I have a real soft spot for Hemi's - 'Cudas, Chargers even though I have never driven one. My question is - how does the "grunt" compare to that of the beast?

I'd really appreciate some first hand experience comments here

Growing up in the late 60's and early 70's, I had my share of experience with muscle cars, which during this time - ruled the road in the US. I had the fortune of riding in a Hemi-Cuda with a friend of mine who was at that time a mechanic for a speed shop in the hometown we both grew up in.

I remember being in absolute AWE of the car, even before I stepped inside. It was a very "raw" car, and it just got your juices going before you even cranked up that sweet motor. Then of course, when you cranked it and took off, you were transported into another world altogether.

These engines have a TON of torque!! And, I remember feeling the rush in the backside of my pants when he took it from 0-120 and it was just pulling like a freight train the entire way.

The only thing that has come close to this for me personally since that time is my 2000 Mustang Cobra R. I suppose this is why I bought it? - it makes me feel young again!

My biz partner has a Cuda and a Belvedere. Nasty Hemi's!

Nothing in the world pulls like a Hemi. My Charger has the factory race Hemi in it, the torque justs twists the car off the ground. The M5 is fast, but there is no comparison. It is just pure, raw power. And there is no better sound ever produced by a car.

Rennen;
I've always been a fan of Hemi's (and any Mopars muscle car). To here you say that with the stable of cars that you have it must be awesome. My fav has to be the '70 Hemi Challenger R/T. Of course in Plum Crazy.

And for those that don't know about Hemi's or Challengers....

If I can borrow a digital camera over the weekend, I'll post some pics. What sold me on the M5 was the first time I blipped the throttle. The whole car shook like a muscle car.
