2003 M5 (17k miles value?) possible for sale?

Well, I bought my car about 6 months ago.
I posted pics of it on here when I got it.

I LOVE this car, but my business has slowed, and
I am probably going to have to sell it.

Just trying to get an idea of maybe a ballpark figure,
of what it may be worth...

Car is 100% stock.

Also, if anyone is interested, I am open to questions,
or possible offers..
I might put it on Autotrader, but I thought I would post here first. I haven't come to the point where I want to advertise it. If someone buys it, so be it, but I just can't get myself to place the ad...

It was a one owner car I bought on the east coast and had it shipped to California. It had 14900 miles on it when I got it, and it just turned 17k miles the other day.
It is everything I hoped it would be.
It really is one of the best cars I have ever had.
I work from home, so I don't drive much,
and I have driven it usually just on weekends..
To say I baby my cars is putting it mildly.

The car had the original tires on it when I got it....
so I put new tires on it, and had my local bmw dealer
look the car over and change the oil..
It was also checked out at the local bmw dealer on the east coast before I bought it...
The car has no issues, except one small ding above the drivers side rear wheel.
It is silver with the black interior and wood trim...
It came with the BMW car cover... which I have
never used. The car has been in my garage always,
only taken out to drive and/or hand wash.

I have some pictures of it up on my Flickr page.

2003 BMW M5 - a set on Flickr

thanks..

gorgeous car...it's absolutely pristine...

are you from OC, by any chance? I was cruising on PCH/Laguna Beach not too long ago and I saw a super clean silver M5 infront of me...i'm pretty sure it had a chrome license plate frame and didn't have rear PDC.

hope you can keep the car :[

I remember when you got this. i was looking at this exact one as well when you purchased it. However, my #1 color was LMB. That's why i hesitated on this one otherwise i would've jumped right on it.

Good luck with the sale!
In my opinion you should keep it unless you really have to let it go. The market has gotten much lower since you picked it up. You may not recoup near the same amount you paid.

At least $40k IMHO...the cheapest MY03 I could find was $38k and had twice the miles...but it was quite modified. Hope you don't have to part with it...almost nothing can replace a beast.

You should be able to get mid 30s if you are patient. Good luck with the sale!

I don't think you will get mid 30's... Probably low 30s to high 20s.... the prices of the M5s have dropped so much you would not believe it. I would hold on to it until the economy gets better. It is a pristine car and if you can only wait until the market picks up you will get a lot more for it.

I agree that mid 30s is optimistic. I thought I conveyed that in my post. If you want to move it quick, post it around $30k, or maybe a little less.

On the idea that the market is going to rebound, I feel that these are not Ferraris, and that each year that passes, they just appear as older BMWs. I sincerely doubt that there will be any significant recovery in pricing as time goes on.

But of course, that's just my two cents.

I agree with mchang..... even if the market goes up it probably won't increase in price that much... it sucks but I think he is right
