raced a carrera GT today... sort of...

i know, i know. it was on the highway but i just couldn't miss the opportunity.

going up 280 towards SF with the wife and a yellow carrera GT comes literally ROCKETING onto the highway from sand hill road. guy HAD to be doing 100+ by the time he got the bottom of the ramp. i'd never seen one actually on the road so i sped up to him to have a look at it.

well, turns out he apparently didn't want me getting next to him. he jumps all the way to the left lane and hits it. so do i. we run up the road much faster than we should until i decide to back off. he continued to just stay in it and was gone in a flash.

two observations...

1 - i was very surprised i kept up with him. at no point did he get away from me. i can only assume that he was nowhere near really getting in it or he would have totally left me.

2 - the v10 in that thing sounds like a F1 car. it really made my day just to hear it and see the thing on the road being driven.

even my wife said, "wow, that's pretty, i'd drive that".

pretty much what i figured. i even said to myself while i was wide open throttle in fourth and was keeping right behind him that there's no way he could be really getting in it.

it was fun though to blast up the road with him. even though i couldn't really keep up with him i was at least in something that could sorta run in the same circles.

there was a guy in a mini S though that tried to keep up with us and apparently decided to just let it go after a few seconds.

I also did that a few years ago

No chance (in hell) but at normal roads you could catch him.
