installed new clutch and flywheel... still have chirp when shifting :-/
So I had a new LUK clutch and flywheel installed. I have put about 300 miles on it now, and I can hear a chirp when I give it hell. In normal driving and shifting it is fine, and there is no slipping. But when I slamming it from first to second, then second to third.. I hear a slight chirp. Is this the clutch slipping or is this something else?

When you say ''chirp'' you mean the tires??

That's the stock clutch/flywheel set up right? Chirping your tires while shifting has certainly piqued my curiousity...
What did it cost? The reason I'm interested is because when I purchased my car about 10K mi ago, the previous owner had installed a LW flywheel, new clutch and SSK (I think it's a UUC). The clutch works fine but the gear clatter at idle and from 1-1.5K rpms (I already changed the fluid to UUC specs to quell the clatter but it didn't work) is driving me nuts so I'm thinking about reverting back to stock - I've never driven a stock set up - if I do go back, will the performance be noticably (negatively) affected? I guess it boils down to: Is the cost and the performance hit worth removing the LW flywheel/clutch set up to eliminate the gear lash noise?
Sorry to hijack the thread - I thought this thread was a good entree to my question
Thanks in advance for anybody's thoughts -
